Manchester City fans are looking up with interest at the latest claim from Metro here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The publication has claimed that Sergio Ramos was subject to a huge bid from the Citizens.
The Spanish defender would have been much loved at the Etihad Stadium had he made the switch, becoming a world class partner for Vincent Kompany, who has had to put up with the likes of Martin Demichelis this season, and that has not exactly gone too well!
One of our punters notes that Manuel Pellegrini knows Ramos well, after he managed him during his ill-fated spell at Real Madrid, and whilst Pellegrini came to England, Ramos remained in Spain and has spent the majority of the season skippering Real Madrid with Iker Casillas on the bench.
The player’s agent and brother spoke about the links, and claimed to Marca: “Out of respect to the club I will only say that they are English.
“The offers are very, very big in economical terms, but we are at the club we want to be at. The best in the world.
“So, more than once, I had to say “Thanks very much for your interest, but no”. I reiterate, right now, leaving Real Madrid is a non-starter.”
Realistically, who should Manuel Pellegrini turn his transfer attentions to now? Let us know your thoughts below.
