And they’ve been given yet another boost with the news that Sergio Aguero isn’t interested in a move away from the Etihad Stadium this summer.
Aguero had been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer in a deal said to be worth up to £60 million but according to The Mirror, the little Argentine striker isn’t interested.
Money isn’t really an issue for the Citizens and 28 goals in 34 matches is far more valuable to the club than any potential transfer would be from Real Madrid.
Aguero revealed after the 2-0 win over West Ham United that he had no intentions of leaving the club and aims to come back even better and stronger next year with the view to more trophies.
The better and stronger comments come after an injury plagued Premier League season and it was clear to see that Manchester City missed their Argentine international when he was out of the side.
One player that looks set to be on his way out however is reserve right back Micah Richards who didn’t even make enough appearances to pick up a medal at the Etihad.
The former England defender has been at the club for 11 years but looks set to leave along with defender Joleon Lescott in the quest for first team football.
Manchester City fans. How vital is it that you keep Aguero at the Etihad Stadium for many years to come? Let us know your thoughts below.
