Raheem Sterling has been on fire for club and country so far, supposedly enticing the interest of 12-time Champions League winners Real Madrid, but these supporters are having none of it.
Sterling, who has been crucial to Pep Guardiola’s success at Manchester City, scoring 49 league goals and registering 27 assists in three seasons, as per WhoScored.com, has now been linked with a move to Los Blancos following a stellar start to this campaign.
Who should be starting for Manchester City, Sergio Aguero or Gabriel Jesus?
According to Sky Sports, Real are planning to launch a £70 million bid, including out-of-favour star Gareth Bale in the deal as an add-on.
Indeed, the rumour is sensational, so much so that a lot of City supporters have taken to Twitter just to laugh at the so-called preposterous nature of these claims.
It’s unlikely Sterling will make the move to La Liga given his importance to City, with most Sky Blue fans thinking it’s well beyond the realms of possibility.
There is no question Bale has his fair share of talent too, but given Sterling’s development at the Etihad and the age-gap between the two, it’s no surprise fans all had a similar reaction…
