Manchester City fans are nodding in agreement here in the Football Transfer Tavern as our landlord notes that The Guardian seem to think the Citizens are eyeing a move for Alex Song.
Song is of course currently on loan at West Ham United after failing to impress various managers at Barcelona.
It seems that he will now potentially be sold by the Catalan club in January should a bid of around £12 million arrive and we certainly think this transfer is something Manuel Pellegrini should consider.
With the future of Frank Lampard uncertain, we think that Song could be the ideal player to come in and cover in the middle of the park.
However given how well he has done for West Ham, we think Hammers boss Sam Allardyce could well be willing to put a permanent bid in for him.
Given how important the Cameroon international has become for the high flying Hammers, we think he may elect to stay where football is guaranteed.
Manchester City fans. Would you be willing to buy Song this winter or should you be focusing on keeping Lampard at the Etihad Stadium? Let us know your thoughts below.
