With Manchester City set to wrap up the Premier League title in the coming weeks and with hopes of winning the European Cup, a lot of the media attention will no doubt turn to the summer and who the club can possibly sign to improve matters.
The City fans here in the Tavern have been blessed over the last few seasons with some absolutely world class talents at the Etihad, and our landlord wonders just how long City can maintain their dominance for as and when certain players begin to reach the end of their shelf life.
One such player who is potentially coming to the end over the coming seasons could be midfielder David Silva, although you would not think it given his form this term.
However, he is in his 30s now, and our landlord thinks that the club should look to sign his Spanish compatriot Marcos Asensio if they are serious about sustaining long term success and making sure Silva is seemingly replaced with ease in Manchester.
In Asensio, they would be getting a player of immense ability, and also someone who in his early 20s, has plenty of years on the clock to further improve and become one of the best players in world football.
Capable of the spectacular, winning games on his own, and also with tremendous vision to set up his teammates, Asensio could add another dimension to City and ensure that they can maintain their dominance in English football for years to come.
City fans, what do you make of this? Would Asensio be a top signing? Let us know in the comments!Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
