Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are encouraged after The Telegraph revealed that Manuel Pellegrini has made an enquiry over the availability of Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony.
It is clear the English champions are in desperate need of more attacking options and it is believed that Swans boss Garry Monk could command a transfer fee of £30 million.
Incredibly, it has been worked out that if the Citizens go ahead with their capture of Bony, they will have to spend around £50 million overall, with the transfer and wages put together.
Officials will be kicking themselves at City as it is apparent that in Bony’s first contract at the Liberty Stadium, he had a release clause of £19 million but this has now been removed in his new contract.
This new contract was signed in November and expires in 2018 allowing the Swans to name their price for the Ivorian.
Manchester City fans. Do you think this fee is far too much to pay for Wilfried Bony? Let us know your thoughts below.
