Manchester City fans will be desperate for their side to force a repeat of last season as they secured the Premier League title and impressed in Europe.
Indeed, the Citizens found it a little too easy to secure the Premier League title last season as they were put under no real pressure. And, it doesn’t look as if Pep Guardiola is going to take his foot off the gas, as according to Sport Mediaset, Manchester City lead the race to sign Miralem Pjanic.
The Premier League champions are believed to be in pole position to sign Bosnian playmaker Miralem Pjanic.
Guardiola could do with adding one new central midfield player to his side this summer, after missing out on former Napoli midfielder Jorginho.
Although, they could possibly miss out on another player due to Chelsea’s presence, as the Blues are also in the race for Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic.
But, Manchester City are most willing to pay the Italian side’s asking price for him.
So, it appears as if Manchester City are leading the race for the midfielder in a potential mega £89 million deal as they look to get over the heartbreak of losing out on Jorginho.
Although, supporters could easily forgive the club if they manage to bring the Bosnian to the Etihad this summer, as Pjanic poses an attacking threat and has established himself as one of the world’s most dangerous and creative midfielders in years gone by.
