The Manchester City fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports linking the club with a move for a new striker.
The Times is reporting that the Premier League side are in talks with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to make the move to England.
Pep Guardiola is a keen admirer of the striker and it is reported that should talks be agreed and he moves to England, he will cost the Premier League side £58 million.
If successful it will be Guardiola’s second signing from Borussia Dortmund following the signing of Ilkay Gudongan last week.
Since joining Dortmund from St Etienne during the summer of 2013, Aubameyang has made 140 appearances and found the back of the net on 80 occassions.
Our landlord in The Tavern feels that Aubameyang is exactly the type of striker who the club should be signing as he will be perfect as part of a strike pair or even alone up top.
