Manchester City in the hunt for impressive German shot stopper

Marc-Andre Ter StegenThe Manchester City fans are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening discussing reports linking them with a move for a new goalkeeper.

The Telegraph is reporting that incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wants to bring Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen to the Etihad Stadium.

Ter Stegan has put in many star performances for La Liga side Barcelona this season and City, along with Liverpool, have reportedly both made bids of around £20 million.

Guardiola is keen to bring in competition for City number one Joe Hart this summer and with Willy Caballero set to leave the Etihad this summer, he wants his former Barcelona charge to join the ranks of his new club.

England number one Hart will no doubt be up for the challenge and will be confident of keeping his place as the sides number one.

The Mancester City fans in The Tavern are delighted to be linked with Barcelona keeper and would love to see him join the ranks at the Etihad.

Is Ter Stegen a better option than Hart? Let us know in the comments below!
