The Telegraph declares that City have added Sevilla ace Gregorz Krychowiak as a target for next season, ahead of the Premier League leader’s clash with the Andalusian outfit in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Arsenal are long-term admirers of the Polish international but now face strong competition to seal a deal for the midfielder, who is set to cost at least £21m due to a release clause in his contract with the La Liga side.
It’s added that Arsene Wenger has scouted Krychowiak extensively over the past 18 months and almost triggered the clause in the summer, before eventually deciding to keep faith in his squad and not sign a senior outfield player.
Gooners at the bar are furious with the situation as it’s now become clear that Wenger’s cold feet may have cost them the signature of the 25-year-old altogether, as City’s emergence in the market poises a real problem for the Gunners.
