Manchester City join the queue for ex-Arsenal ace

fabregas.jpgToday is more than a little bit dramatic here in the Football Transfer Tavern and the latest claims from the Daily Mail don’t exactly put an end to that with the publication claiming that Manchester City have now joined the race for former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

Whilst this would be interesting on its own merit, the fact that the player is also being tracked by Manchester United makes for an all the more interesting situation and hopefully a dramatic saga for us all to watch – not that Cesc to Barcelona wasn’t painful enough in the first place!

Now it seems that incoming Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini feels that the Barcelona midfielder would be perfect for his side and is willing to pay for the services of the Spanish international who is willing to leave the Camp Nou for the right club and at the right price this summer.

As we discussed only yesterday in the tavern, United and David Moyes are also considering a swoop for the player they feel would be a key man in their quest to retain their title but also going for European glory next term. Of course with City also now showing an interest it not only raises questions over the futures of their players in the middle of the park – especially Jack Rodwell but also sets us up for a nice bidding war.

Is Fabregas really going to return to the Premier League with any of Manchester’s finest? Let us know your thoughts below.
