There are some sensational reports emerging in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The Daily Star claim that Juventus could be prepared to sell Paul Pogba to Manchester City as they try to lure Stevan Jovetic back to Italy.
The Serie A champions have already unsuccessfully attempted to sign Jovetic on loan after he made just five appearances in his first six months at the Etihad Stadium.
However today’s reports suggest that they could step up their chase to land the 24-year-old Montenegrin forward and may consider including reported City target Paul Pogba as part of a possible deal.
Manuel Pellegrini wants to fetch the French international back to the Premier League after he left arch-rivals United 18 months ago. Pogba has been excellent in Turin and the box-t0-box midfielder is now rated at around £30 million by the Italian club.
Jovetic cost the Citizens £22 million from Fiorentina in the summer and adding him to the deal could offset some of the cost for the 20-year-old former United man.
Here in the tavern we think that Jovetic still deserves a chance to prove his obvious talent at the Etihad but getting the ever-improving Pogba as part of any transfer could be a excellent piece of business for Pellegrini and City.
