There are some interesting reports emerging in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening.
Mirror Football suggest that Manchester City are tracking Dutch-Serbian teenager Richairo Zivkovic who has been dubbed as the new Arjen Robben.
The FC Groningen starlet has been impressing in the Eredivisie and has since drawn comparisons with the player who scored the winning goal in the Champions League final last term and is so highly regarded in the tavern.
Robben started his distinguished career with his home town club Groningen where he spent two seasons before joining PSV Eindhoven in 2002.
Now Zivkovic has been compared to the famous former player, having already beaten the Dutch international’s record as the youngest player to have netted for the club.
The striker has also drawn strong comparisons in style to fellow Dutch ace Robin van Persie with his fine ability to finish in front of goal and his mature attitude, both on and off the pitch.
The Citizens are not the only club interested in the 17-year-old with Liverpool also keeping tabs on the promising youngster and Groningen director Hans Nijland said in August: “All the top clubs in Holland want him but Liverpool are here every week too.
“They are watching him closely and very keen.”
Where could Zivkovic develop his career better? Manchester City or Liverpool? Let us know your thoughts below.
