It’s been another busy day in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Premier League title race really heats up with a handful of games remaining.
Manchester City fans have been left interested with the latest reports from The Express who claim that Manuel Pellegrini is eyeing a double swoop for two of England’s brightest talents.
The paper indicates that Southampton’s in-demand left-back Luke Shaw and Everton’s midfielder Ross Barkley are being lined up as the club try and increase their homegrown quota.
Every Premier League side must have eight homegrown players in their 25-man squad but with the future of Micah Richards and Joleon Lescott uncertain and neither Scott Sinclair or Jack Rodwell getting close to cementing their place in the City team, Pellegrini is looking at other options.
This could see the Citizens trying to sign some of the finest young talent in the Premier League.
Shaw has been strongly linked with Manchester United and Chelsea in the summer, while it is also thought that Real Madrid are closely watching his progress.
Meanwhile Barkley has been in sensational form for the Toffees this term and he looks every bit a top class player.
Do you that City will be able to land these English stars ahead of their transfer rivals? Let us know your thoughts below.
