The Daily Mirror have a cracker for us here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they note that Manchester City are set to bid for two high profile forwards.
After a rather disappointing start to pre-season being defeated in a friendly to South African outfit Supersport United, new manger Manuel Pellegrini is not waiting for the rot to set in.
Already aware that his side have sold not only Carlos Tevez this summer to Italian giants Juventus but also the fact that Mario Balotelli left in the January transfer window, the manager is set on finding new players and has turned his attentions to two specific targets to give his side what he feels is needed.
Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic has been well known to us for some time now especially given the interest from Arsenal this summer and now it seems City have entered the race for his signature.
Not only that but Spanish international Alvaro Negredo (pictured) is also on the wishlist of Pellegrini who as we know, is well aware of what the player can do having seen him up close in La Liga.
Eden Dzeko is also set to get another chance to impress at the Etihad Stadium and after being the top scorer last term we think this is well deserved.
Will Manchester City manage to bring both Negredo and Jovetic to the Etihad Stadium this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
