Manchester City have made an official approach to sign Malaga midfielder Isco but face fierce competition from Real Madrid who have also submitted a bid according to Mirror Football.
The news was confirmed by Isco who admitted that he now has a big decision to make about his future. And the Spanish star, who has been so impressive during the current European Under-21 Championships with Spain through to the final, could leave Malaga this summer after their UEFA ban from European competitions was confirmed.
“There are two propositions on the table,” Isco said: “I hope to decide soon because I still have a contract with Malaga.
“I know that both Manchester City and Real Madrid are great clubs. I want that whatever happens will be the best for me and Malaga.”
New Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is the main influence on bringing Isco to the Etihad Stadium and the player even admitted that his former boss could help City succeed in their bid.
“It is true that I already know Pellegrini. I know how he works and he has been fundamental in my career,” he added.
“It is a point in favour that we have already been together but it is not definitive.”
