The Manchester City fans who are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports that one of their squad players is set to stay with the club.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Yaya Toure looks set to remain at the club next season and see out the last year of his contract.
Toure was expected to be one of the high profile players released by new Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola this summer, but it appears the Ivory Coast international is prepared to see out the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium.
Toure had been linked with sides in China and a reunion with former manager Roberto Mancicni at Inter Milan, but any interest has been dampened by the players wage at City which is reportedly £220,000 a week.
The midfielders chances of starting many games will be limited next season following Guardiola’s signing of Ilkay Gudongan from Borussia Dortmund.
Can Toure still offer City something next season? Let us know in the comments below!
