As one of the last Saturday’s of the football season, the Football Transfer Tavern is buzzing with activity and news reported by talkSPORT has left Manchester City hopeful about landing out of their main transfer targets this summer.
Malaga playmaker Isco is one of the first names on City’s fans list of players they want to see arrive and talkSPORT suggest that the club have sounded out the La Rosaleda-based side about a summer move.
The Spanish outfit have come out to insist that City have not registered any interest in prising away manager Manuel Pellegrini but confirmed that the former Premier League champions have indeed held talks about their highly rated midfielder.
Malaga sporting director Armando Mario Husillos told TuttoMercatoWeb: “We have not had contact with them for Manuel Pellegrini.
“But we have [had discussions] with regard to some of our players that may be of interest to Txiki Begiristain, their sporting director.”
Malaga reached the quarter-finals in the Champions League this term and Isco was the star man for the La Liga side which has seen the 21-year-old attract interest from Premier League sides also including Chelsea and Liverpool however Manchester City are now thought to be leading the race for his signature.
The La Liga side will not participate in next year’s Champions League after earning a UEFA ban for their well-documented financial crisis and that could see them selling the classy midfielder during the summer.
