Manchester City opt against £20m January move for Premier League star

The Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are purring at the team’s latest performances.

Pep Guardiola’s methods are finally starting to click and he has his team causing real problems going forward and scoring freely each game.

And the fans in the Transfer Tavern have been even more excited about the prospect of Alexis Sanchez possibly joining them in January from Arsenal.

This would leave them with incredible options in the attacking slots: Sergio Aguero, Alexis Sanchez, Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and more.

However, there has been a latest setback to this dream.

According to The Mirror, Manchester City will not be making a move for Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window.

Instead, they will wait and move to sign him on a free transfer next summer because they are not willing to pay £20m in January after Arsenal played hardball in the summer.

The Chile international, alongside Mesut Ozil, has refused a new contract at Arsenal and the pair could leave for free at the end of the season if they cannot agree new terms or if they are not sold in January.

Man City will now wait until the summer to try to snap up the 28-year-old.
