Manchester City supporters will welcome Pep Guardiola to the Etihad Stadium during the summer and the die-hard contingent here in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful of a change in fortune on the pitch.
City have not been at their free flowing best during the current campaign and there is some big squad repair work for Guardiola to get his teeth into.
Our landlord has spotted some news in today’s edition of The Sunday Mirror, which claims that the Spanish manager is lining up moves for England duo Jack Wilshere and Danny Rose, with Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, also in the boss’ sights.
Wilshere and Rose would be good additions for City as they would bump up their quota of home-grown, although it is difficult to imagine either Tottenham or Arsenal wanting to do business on two of their better players.
Sanchez has looked out of sorts this season and is reportedly growing increasingly frustrated with life at the Emirates Stadium, which could change his availability with Guardiola set to pounce.
One Manchester City fan is waiting for the Sunday night quiz to begin and he thinks Sanchez arriving is nothing more than a pipedream, although he believes the club could tempt Wilshere and Rose to the Etihad, believing both would be interested in a move.
City fans, would you welcome these players? Who else would you like to see the club sign?
