Manchester City preparing summer swoop for Arsenal midfielder

Oxlade-ChamberlainArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern thought they’d seen the back of their rivals pinching their prized assets but they’ve angrily stormed out of the bar this afternoon as it was revealed that’s not the case.

The Times says new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is eyeing a move for Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with the England international struggling to nail down a starting spot in north London.

The former Southampton ace has struggled with injuries over recent seasons and with more problems this year, accompanied by poor form, he faces immense competition from the likes of Joel Campbell for a regular starting berth.

With Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey also regularly utilised in the wide areas, 22-year-old Oxlade-Chamberlain may feel their are better opportunities elsewhere- and a jump to Manchester City may appeal to the starlet.

Despite his inability to cement regular football at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal are unlikely to part ways with a young talent that they’ve spent years developing- especially with a Premier League rival.

Our landlord though believes the Gunners may be keen to cash-in if they receive a lucrative offer, as he feels the money could be better spent elsewhere.

Arsenal fans, would you be angry to see Oxlade-Chamberlain move to City? Let us know in the comments below!
