There are some surprised looks around the Football Transfer Tavern this evening as Paul Hetherington brings some intriguing transfer gossip into the bar surrounding Manchester City.
The Daily Star journalist explains that he has heard City could be offered a second bite of the cherry at signing Spanish attacking midfielder Isco in the summer.
The Citizens publicity pursued the-then Malaga youngster during the summer as Manuel Pellegrini tried to bring his former player to the Etihad Stadium. However the 21-year-old snubbed the interest to sign instead for La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Now it has been reported that the classy midfielder is already unsettled at the Bernabeu and could amazingly be available for around £30 million at the end of the season.
He made an impressive start to his life with Los Blancos, but has lately lost his starting place in Carlo Ancelotti’s team thanks to the stunning form of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric.
This has reportedly seen Isco considering his options, with a move to rejoin his former Malaga manager possibly on the cards.
Hetherington suggest that the Chilean coach is a huge fan of Isco’s talents and would love to see him grace his current free-flowing City side, who have already hit more 100 goals between them this season.
We’d have to agree there as Isco is certainly a player we would love to see in the Premier League soon.
Can you see City finally landing the quality attacking midfielder in the summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
