Manchester City ready to lodge £25m bid for Premier League attacker

The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern want to sign Alexis Sanchez. Arsenal forward Sanchez is out of contract in the summer and Manchester City fans believe that they can prise him away from the Gunners for a cut price fee. If not, they will try to sign him on a free in the summer but that is more risky as there will be a host of teams circling when Sanchez becomes a free agent.

According to a report by The Mirror, Manchester City are set to make a £25m bid for Alexis Sanchez. After losing Gabriel Jesus to a long term injury, bringing in a new attacker has become Pep Guardiola’s priority rather than snapping up a new centre back.

City are ready to test the water with an opening £25m bid for the Chile international. The Citizens tried to sign Sanchez in the summer but pulled the plug on a deal as they opted to wait for January or summer 2018 instead. Sanchez is still showing no signs of committing his future to Arsenal and he reportedly wants out.

This move for Sanchez could mean that Manchester City do not go ahead with their attempts to sign Inigo Martinez, who has £28.5m release clause in his contract with Real Sociedad.

Landlord’s verdict

Alexis Sanchez at Manchester City would make them even more of a dynamic and dangerous attacking unit. Arsenal will be very reluctant to sell him, especially to a Premier League rival, but they need to make a simple choice. Do they take £25m and reinvest or lose their star man for nothing in the summer?
