Manchester City fans have something to smile about here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by the Daily Mail that the club are set to sign Malaga’s star man Isco.
The highly coveted Benalmadena-born Spanish international has been torn between Real Madrid and Manchester City this summer and now it seems that the Premier League side could finally be set to land their man.
Isco has been swayed by two major factors according to the Spanish press; the chance to play week in, week out, which is something he is not sure will happen at the Bernabeu and also the fact that the manager he knows so well – Manuel Pellegrini has just been installed at the Etihad Stadium.
Of course the money is no object for Manchester City and whilst they may not have backed Roberto Mancini last summer in the transfer market, 59-year-old Pellegrini is getting exactly what he wants and Isco is a big part of that. The talented player will cost in the region of £21 million – small change really to the mega wealthy owners of City.
Missing out on Isco will of course make Real Madrid even more determined to land their other top target – Tottenham’s Gareth Bale, something that could well be bad news for Andre Villas-Boas and Spurs fans.
Is it simply a matter of hours before the Isco deal is signed and sealed? Let us know your thoughts below.
