New Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has ended his pursuit of Paul Pogba and has cast his attentions towards the signing of Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos instead, according to the Sunday Express.
The Spanish boss has been a long-term admirer of France international Pogba although he now appears to have slipped off City’s radar, with a move for Germany man Kroos lined up after Euro 2016.
The Express expect that this deal has legs in it and believe that a £37 million deal could be completed just days after Euro 2016 finishes, in what would be deemed a remarkable coup.
The Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are delighted by this news with many racing to the bar to get a celebratory drink in.
One in particular is in the Tavern for the Sunday evening quiz and he thinks Kroos would be a superb signing, stating that a midfield playmaker is exactly the sort of player that City need if they are to reclaim their Premier League crown during next season.
Manchester City fans, would you welcome the addition of Kroos into the current squad? Who else should Guardiola look to sign?
