Manchester City set to enter race for La Liga goalkeeper

Marc-Andre Ter StegenThe Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still crying into their empty pint pots following yesterday’s cruel penalty shoot-out defeat to Manchester City in the Capital One Cup Final.

Our landlord has spotted some intriguing transfer news in today’s Daily Express, which may see Liverpool lose out to City yet again!

The piece indicates that the Citizens are trying to press ahead on a £19 million move for Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who has been a long-term target for Liverpool.

It is thought that the Catalan giants are not actively seeking to sell their stopper but nonetheless, the right bid could tempt them into a sale.

One City fan is sat in the smoking area of the Tavern and doesn’t see why they need another goalkeeper of ter Stegen’s ilk, when they already have someone as assured as Joe Hart.

City fans… Would you welcome the Barcelona keeper? Who else should Pep Guardiola look to sign?
