The Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are extremely excited at what the future might hold following the arrival of Pep Guardiola as the club’s new manager, with spirits extremely high ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
The club are expected to see several new faces come into the club over the next couple of weeks and Guardiola will leave no stone unturned in his attempts to improve on last season’s fourth placed finish.
Our landlord has spotted the news of a potential new signing in today’s edition of The Daily Express, with reports suggesting that City are set to make an official bid for Everton and England central defender John Stones.
Stones came in for some criticism last season following a series of high profile errors, although Guardiola is a big fan of the player and is desperate to make him part of his plans next season.
A bid of £45 million has been touted around and one City fan here in the Tavern is of the belief that such a fee should see you sign a player better than Stones, stating that he is good, but not that good.
Manchester City fans, is Stones worth £45 million? Which other central defender should you sign?
