The Daily Mirror have managed to get both Liverpool and Manchester City fans looking up with interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they seem to think that Raheem Sterling could well be on his way to the Etihad Stadium.
City are reportedly preparing another bid for the winger and as one of our punters notes over a beer and burger by the bar, Sterling is certainly someone we can see playing for City.
The fact that they can match his ambitions in terms of titles and Champions League qualification means he would jump at the chance to join the Citizens – but it would certainly cost more than the bids City have been making to convince the Reds to sell – hence their escalation to £50 million.
Manchester City fans. Is £50 million too much for Sterling or is the fact he counts as a home-grown player going to mean you have to pay more for him? Let us know your thoughts below.
