The Manchester City fans at the bar today have been boasting about the quality of striker Sergio Aguero after his brace earned their side a point at West Ham, but in the meantime, another attacking player is set to be loaned out of the club.
The Manchester Evening News report that Kosovan attacking midfielder Bersant Celina is prepared to leave the Etihad Stadium on-loan in order to further his development.
The 19-year old was handed his first-team debut by manager Manuel Pelelgrini when he came on in the closing minutes minutes of the Blues’ FA Cup win over Norwich at the beginning of January.
However, he has failed to make another first team appearance since then and he has instead featured in 3 matches for City’s Elite Development Squad over the past 2 weeks.
With the sheer quality and depth that exists within City’s ranks, Celina appreciates that breaking into the first-team will be a difficult chance, as he conceded he thinks a loan is the best option.
“I feel ready but obviously we’re at one of the biggest clubs in the world. It’s always hard to get in the team but if I get the chance then I am ready. Even if I’m ready here I can’t just go in and take the place of one of the best players in the world,”
“If a loan comes in, I think it’s a good idea. I want to go on loan to play first team games, but it’s important to find the right club.”
“I’m not stressing it. I wouldn’t mind staying here until the summer and maybe then going on loan. We’ll see what happens. I can’t really say anything but there are a lot of clubs [interested].”
Scottish champions Celtic are said to be leading the negotiations with City for Celina’s services, but the player admits that there are also other clubs interested.
