Punters from the Football Transfer Tavern are rushing up to the bar in order to hear the latest gossip coming from the Daily Mail, who seem to think that Manchester City are set to raid their fellow English clubs for their best and brightest talent.
As one of our punters notes, the players they look like targeting are English ones and given the quota for home grown players now, we cannot blame the Citizens for taking that transfer strategy – but it will go down like a lead balloon with the clubs they’re set to raid and we think that Liverpool will be the first one of those.
The future of Raheem Sterling is up in the air and City could certainly afford a £50 million bid for the star and we think this is the first big signal that one is in the offing.
Liverpool fans. Do you think Raheem Sterling will be first on the list for City? Would you ever sell to another rival? Let us know your thoughts below.
