Manchester City set to snare right-back from Premier League title rivals

The Manchester City supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern can’t help but look smug at the moment, with the club’s summer recruitment drive in full swing.

Our Bar Manager in the Tavern is a devoted City supporter and he thinks that if the club continues signing world class players at this rate then the league will be a doddle during the 2017/18 campaign.

The Sun are reporting that the Citizens are lining-up a deal for Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker, which seems surprising considering that The Guardian today reported that Dani Alves is close to joining the club as well.

Walker has been in fine form for Spurs over the past two seasons, firmly establishing himself as one of the very best full-backs in Europe and it seems only natural that bigger clubs are beginning to show an interest.

Losing such an influential player would represent a massive blow for Spurs, although it would bolster City’s chances of ousting the North Londoners in the race for next season’s title.

City pursuing two full-backs with such pedigree represents an embarrassment of riches, although it does indicate Pep Guardiola’s desire to ensure that the Premier League crown is City’s next season.

One City fan is having a chinwag with the Bar Manager and they are both in agreement that at this stage of the transfer window it looks as though the Citizens hold all the aces when it comes to having the best squad, stating that a couple more world class signings could make it impossible for other clubs to challenge them next season.

Manchester City fans, what do you make to the news regarding Kyle Walker? Let us know in the comments below!!!
