Manchester City set to strike deal for 32-year-old Brazilian star

The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern were singing Fernandinho’s name last weekend when he netted against West Bromwich Albion.

Fernandinho has proven to be an instrumental player in Manchester City’s midfield over the past few seasons.

But the Brazilian’s current deal at The Etihad is due to expire at the end of the season.

However, Man City fans will be encouraged by recent reports.

According to a report by The Daily Star, Fernandinho is set to sign a one year contract extension at Man City.

City boss Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the 32-year-old and wants to keep him for next season.

The defensive midfielder has agreed terms over a new deal and will put pen to paper to extend his £100k per week contract.

Fernandinho joined Man City in the summer of 2013 from Shakhtar Donetsk and has won one Premier League title.

The veteran midfielder, who has 39 international caps for Brazil to his name, will now be aiming to win another Premier League title this season.
