Manchester City seem to be busy, and here in the Football Transfer Tavern their fans cannot wait to hear the two players the Citizens have been linked with in the Daily Mail.
The publication seem to be under the impression that a double swoop is being readied by the club’s board and manager Manuel Pellegrini – with Bacary Sagna and Fernando set to join the Premier league winners imminently.
As one of our punters notes over a pint, Sagna had been expected to join, and that is something the club can commend themselves on given the defender is available on a free – and those seemingly difficult to follow FFP rules will be adhered to for once!
The other player set to join is Porto midfielder Fernando, who the club are reportedly willing to pay £14.5 million for, and want to utilise him to bring some defensive solidity in the midfield.
With Chelsea and Liverpool looking to strengthen this summer it seems that City are not willing to sit still, and are determined to get those players in and take the team forward further.
Manchester City fans, do you think that this double swoop will move the club on for next season? Will you go further in the Champions League now? Let us know your thoughts below.
