Manchester City look every bit the Championship contender in the Premier League this season, with the club making a stunning start to the season under Pep Guardiola.
The Blue half of Manchester are finally impressing to the standard the talent in their squad suggests they should, and ‘Pep’ will no doubt be delighted with how things are going so far.
However, one bitter blow has struck to their campaign with regards to Sergio Aguero, who will miss around eight weeks with a broken rib. Our landlord here in the Tavern thinks this highlights a lack of depth up front for the Citizens, and he thinks there’s room for another addition in January.
One player he thinks could be the answer for City is current Napoli and Italy hitman Lorenzo Insigne, who has been in lethal form for the Naples club for a number of seasons now.
At 26, he is coming into his prime, and the chance to move to City and make his mark in the Premier League could be an enticing one. Despite playing in the Champions League this term already, he would still be an excellent addition for City for the final half of the season.
He would not come cheap, and Napoli love their pacey front man, but City have the funds, and there’s every chance that he could go on to become the next superstar at the Etihad.
