Manchester City fans here in the Tavern have been keeping a close eye on the World Cup this summer as they keep an eye on any potential new signings who could come through the door at the Etihad.

The likes of Napoli midfielder Jorginho are strongly expected to join in the coming weeks, but our landlord has been keeping a close watch on potential talent at the World Cup, and he thinks there's a fair few who have impressed over in Russia.

One player who keeps getting a mention is Lazio midfielder Sergej-Milinkovic-Savic, who has been hugely impressive and drawn the attention of a whole host of onlookers over the past 18 months.

Valued at a whopping £63m by Transfermarkt, the Serbian is not going to be going anywhere on the cheap, but a move away from the Rome club is looking more and more likely, with the youngster impressing during this summer's showpiece tournament.

Savic seized his chance to impress on the world stage, and a move to City and the chance to work under Pep Guardiola could well be too good to turn down for the young midfielder.

Comfortable in possession, and with an element of fight about him which would fit nicely in the City midfield, the Lazio midfielder would be the perfect addition to what is already a multi-talented squad that has been assembled by Guardiola.

City fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know!
