Few players in the Premier League have had quite the impact Sergio Aguero has had over the last five years or so, with the Argentine striker proving himself again and again as one of the world’s best.
The diminutive little forward has become one of the darlings of the City faithful, and his goal scoring exploits have been nothing short of superb during his time in the Premier League, with his famous title winning last minute goal against QPR a particular highlight.
Here in the Tavern, our landlord has been trying to cast an eye on the future for City, and with Aguero reaching his late 20’s, he thinks the club need to be thinking about a long term successor to his mantle as king of the Etihad.
One such player he thinks can be an excellent signing for the club and do a job replacing Aguero is current RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner, who is really coming into his own this season.
13 goals in all competitions means he is well on track to his between 25 and 30 goals this term, and at just 21 years of age, the young German has plenty of time to develop further and really hone his craft on route to becoming one of the world’s best.
Werner looks to be a top talent and it’s only going to be a matter of time before one of the ‘big boys’ come knocking, and City are right in that mix.
A future strikeforce of Gabriel Jesus and Werner is something for City fans to be seriously excited about if it comes off, and they can look forward to a period of Premier League dominance with that pair at the forefront of their attack.
City fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
