Manchester City’s first season under Pep Guardiola has by many been considered a failure, and there will be big pressure next season on him and the team to go and win something.
They have often looked well short of what is required as champions, and things might well need a big overhaul in the summer to address certain positions and give Guardiola the players he needs to go and win trophies.
The City fans here in the Tavern have already got their eyes on one or two players heading into the summer window, and our landlord has been listening intently to their suggestions and wants.
One player our landlord has mentioned though which came as a surprise is Southampton winger Nathan Redmond, who is currently valued at £10.2m by Transfermarkt.
Redmond might not be the most obvious of glamorous of signings, but he has had another superb season and developed his game even further at Southampton, breaking into the England squad and becoming a nightmare for defenders.
City currently have Raheem Sterling on the books, and at times the former Liverpool man is infuriating to watch, so there is no reason why someone like Redmond can join Man City and go on to excel in place of someone like Sterling.
His pace, trickery, and eye for goal make him an excellent prospect, and crucially, he is still in his early 20’s, giving him plenty of time to develop even further under one of the world’s top coaches.
City fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know your thoughts!
