The Metro is reporting that Jason Denayer has been slapped with a £30 million price tag to try and put of potential suitors as Manchester City see him as a star of the future.
The 20-year-old has impressed during a loan spell in Turkey so far this season and City are desperate to keep the talented versatile defender.
Denayer is currently on loan at Galatasaray and they were hoping to persuade Manchester City to sell for a fee of £7.3 million but that thought has been blown way out of the water by the Premier League side.
City have plans for Denayer to take over the role that is currently held by Martin Demichelis, who is thought to be on his way out of the Etihad Stadium at the end of the current campaign.
Denayer spent last season on-loan in Scotland with Celtic and impressed during 25 appearances for the Scottish Premier League Champions but City still felt he needed more experience at European level so opted to send him out on loan in September to Galatasaray. He has made three appearance so far during his time in Istanbul and managed to help the team record a clean sheet on debut.
The Manchester City fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted that the club are looking to bring players through from their youth system and can’t wait to see the talented defender in action in a sky blue shirt.
