Manchester City standing firm as Swansea look to bring former star back to Liberty in £10m deal

It’s been a quiet transfer window for Swansea City and manager Paul Clement, who will be looking to keep his side as far away from the relegation zone as possible in this season’s Premier League campaign.

The Swans just about survived thanks to the magic worked by the former Derby County chief last season but it’s clear that the City fans here in the Tavern want to see much more from their side this season.

Of course, the Premier League is going to be tougher than ever and what the Welsh club are missing more than anything is a man that can score goals week-in, week-out.

They did have that when Wilfried Bony was on their books and now, the Mirror are reporting that the Swans are looking to bring him back to the Liberty in a £10million deal.

But that’s not going to be enough to convince City to re-sell the star, who is also attracting interest from Turkey.

Bony joined City for £28million two seasons ago and it really hasn’t worked out for the Ivorian, who endured a tough spell on-loan at Stoke City last season.

But with Pep Guardiola now looking to build a side capable of winning the Premier League, it looks like Bony’s time to leave is edging ever close.

Landlord’s Verdict

Bony was a cracking player when he was on the books at Swansea and he showed some true quality during his time in Wales.

Of course, the move to City didn’t work out as he’d planned but Swansea should definitely up their offer to bring him back.
