Manchester City fans are looking over to our landlord who is indulging in a game of pool here in the Football Transfer Tavern and after he divulges what has been said in The Sun, that is no wonder.
The publication has claimed that James Milner is willing to pen a new deal with the Premier League champions and commit to perhaps the final big contract of his career.
As one of our punters notes, Milner was at one point unsure of his future under Manuel Pellegrini and we thought that he would certainly be on his way out of the club, with a fair few Premier League sides – not to mention European ones – keen on the Englishman.
Now after working his way into the plans of Pellegrini, he is a vital part of the side and whilst his first team place is unsure in a side who can buy just about anyone they want, we think that would be the case for just about any player at the club.
Over a beer and a burger, a fair few of our regulars point out that Milner is also someone who would count as homegrown player, adding even more value to a new deal for City.
Manchester City fans. Do you think that Milner deserves a new deal at the club? Let us know your thoughts below.
