According to talkSPORT, Matija Nastasic is wanted on loan by AC Milan who are thought to be pushing for a move to happen in January with the Rossoneri hoping that a successful loan spell could then lead to a permanent deal.
It is believed the Italian giants have already made an enquiry for the 21-year-old heading into January as he has not featured for Pellegrini’s side since their 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the FA Community Shield.
And the chance of a return to the first team in the near future looks incredibly unlikely for the youngster as he is currently the Citizens’ fourth choice defender behind Vincent Kompany, Martin Demichelis and new boy Eliaquim Mangala.
However, Milan boss Filippo Inzaghi sees this as a good opportunity to give Nastasic a fresh start, giving him a chance to discover his true potential. After all, Serie A is where Nastasic made his name with Fiorentina prior to his Etihad Stadium switch in 2012.
Whilst City fans are keen to allow the player to go out on loan to get first team football, they fear losing him permanently as they recall just how impressive he was in his debut season with the Sky Blues.
Manchester City fans. Would you be happy to take a risk and loan out Matija Nastasic or do you think the club should try giving him more first team football? Let us know your thoughts below.
