Manchester City fans are content that their star-men are being kept happy at the Etihad Stadium, after hearing one of their fan-favourites praise one of the club’s newest acquisitions.
The Daily Express quotes Manchester City star Sergio Aguero as hailing the arrival of Kevin De Bruyne in the summer. The Argentine said that City’s decision to splash out £54m for their all-time record signing was ‘a great bit of business’.
Belgian international De Bruyne has hit the ground running since making his move to the Premier League, making 14 appearances to far for City; managing 6 goals and 6 assists.
And Aguero, who has been sidelined for 6 weeks due to a hamstring injury that never properly recovered, is itching to resume his strike partnership with the former Wolfsburg playmaker when he returns for City’s clash against Liverpool on Saturday. Aguero said:
“I’m really happy because I think the club did a great piece of business bringing Kevin in and you are always happy when a quality player arrives and he is certainly that.”
“The few chances I’ve had to play alongside him have been encouraging because we started to get an understanding of how each other plays.”
“As I say, he is a great player and it’s really important he settles in and shows us what he can do and he’s also a great lad off the field as well so I’m looking forward to playing alongside him again.”
Along with Aguero, City are also hoping that Pablo Zabaleta, Samir Nasri and David Silva will also be fit and available for the Liverpool clash at the weekend.
