Manchester City are set to reject any bids made for Football Transfer Tavern favourite Stevan Jovetic in January despite his rough ride so far this season, as reported by the Sunday Mirror.
Jovetic has failed to make any impact at the Etihad Stadium since arriving from Fiorentina in the summer, but now fully fit the Montenegrin forward is set to come back into Manuel Pellegrini’s plans.
Unfortunately for Jovetic, fellow newbie Alvaro Negredo has struck up an impressive partnership with in-form Sergio Aguero and back up Edin Dzeko has impressed when on the pitch too this season.
Jovetic has confirmed that he wants to stay at City to fight for his place but Roma and Inter Milan have other ideas and are expected to make sizeable January bids to take the striker back to Serie A.
City will rebuff such offers though as they hope Jovetic will still play a big part for them this season as the fixture lists looks crammed for the next two months and beyond.
