Manchester City fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are placing down their pints, hurrying over from the pool table and rushing to ask our landlord if the latest claim from the Manchester Evening News is true.
The in-demand report claims that Yaya Toure could well be set to join Paris Saint-Germain at some point in the near future.
Our regulars make two observations at this point. They note that Yaya is vital to Manchester City and losing him would be a huge blow.
They also note that PSG now have the money and other world class stars to attract basically anyone they would want.
Yaya spoke to French radio and was asked about a potential move, and his reply was not exactly what City fans would have wanted to hear.
“Why not? Everything’s going well with City at the moment, but you never know.” The midfield star noted.
“When you have big teams like that, who already have big players, it’s obviously attractive.
“Being part of an adventure like that, a squad like that, is exceptional. For me PSG are a big club.
“They’re a big team, full of history, with all the great players they have at the moment. ”
PSG have also tried to make a cheeky attempt at landing Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, but were of course rebuffed by both Chelsea and the Belgian trickster himself.
Could Toure be set to quit the Manchester City cause as early as in the summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
