Manchester City star predicts silverware will be coming back to the Etihad next season

There’s a huge season on the horizon for Manchester City and manager Pep Guardiola.

The former Barcelona manager struggled to stamp his identity on the City squad during his first season in-charge but moving forward, it’s clear that Guardiola needs to bring in some serious talent over the summer months.

The Citizens have already brought in Monaco star Bernardo Silva this summer but with signings expected over the coming weeks and months, there’s thought City might be back amongst the title chasers next season.

And one man that thinks City have ever chance of making next time out is experienced midfielder Yaya Toure, who signed a new deal with the club earlier this week.

“What I know about this club is that something is happening because the club want to move one step forward again like they do every year,” he told Sky Sports News.

“For a player that wants to win trophies and be in a great squad with a great manager- it is something special.

“I think next season will be exciting. I hope we win a couple of trophies and everything will be fantastic,” he added.

City will be back playing amongst the top brass in the Champions League again next season and after signing a one-year contract extension, Toure will be hoping to bring the good times back in Europe next time out.
