Manchester City star set for shock axe?

tevez.jpgThe future of Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez remains up in the air, and Charles Perrin of the Daily Express has dropped by at the Football Transfer Tavern to give us the latest on the future of the Argentine forward.

City are set for a big summer clear out following a disappointing campaign, and Tevez whose time at the Etihad Stadium has been blighted by off field problems is set to be one of the first to leave, with Boca Juniors reportedly set to offer him an escape route home.

Tevez has managed 15 goals in all competitions this season, as City have crashed out of the Champions League at the group stage and surrendered their title to Manchester United by February.

The striker’s failure to match the goal scoring exploits of Robin van Persie has proved the difference, and incidents off the pitch have hit the headlines once more, with him having recently been charged by police for driving whilst disqualified.

A return to Argentina would mean the end of a seven-year spell in the Premier League for Tevez, having joined West Ham United in 2006.

He has since played for Manchester United and Manchester City, winning the Premier league three times, the Champions League, the League Cup and FA Cup.

It is understood Tevez is ready for a move and a return home, and at the age of 29 he is looking for a new career challenge.

Will Tevez represent the first big name to exit the Etihad in the summer? Rate this rumour below.
