There are raised eyebrows visible here in the Football Transfer Tavern after the Daily Mail claimed that Manchester City could well be set to give one of their forwards another chance at the club.
It had been thought that Edin Dzeko would be following Mario Balotelli out of the door at the Etihad Stadium this summer yet given the fact that the club have failed to land a host of their top targets, new manager Manuel Pellegrini is set to do a U-turn on the striker’s future and offer him another chance at the club.
Despite being the top scorer for the Citizens last season, Dzeko featured from the bench on numerous occassions and was never really given a starting chance from Roberto Mancini to establish himself as a top dog at the club, with the Italian preferring to concentrate on Mario Balotelli and then the returning Carlos Tevez up top with Sergio Aguero. Now it seems that Dzeko could be the main man next season.
City of course have missed out on not only Napoli’s Edinson Cavani but also look like missing out on Malaga star Isco to boot meaning that the new arrivals they so badly set their hopes on look like rejecting them.
Will Dzeko remain at the Etihad Stadium this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
