Transfer Tavern punters are discussing news that Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is to be offered a chance to prolong his career with the City franchise- but he may be swapping the north-west of England for the north-east of America.
According to The Daily Star, the 33-year-old, who is out of contract in 2017, might well be given the chance to earn one last pay-cheque with MLS club New York City, the owners of which also own the Manchester club.
Fans of City here in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed a rocky relationship at times with Toure over the years.
The Ivorian has been superb for the club helping them win two Premier League titles but has also frustrated them in equal measure with lazy performances and stropping over the lack of birthday cake.
If Toure were to move to America and New York City then he would join former Manchester City team mate Frank Lampard as well as stars like Andrea Pirlo and David Villa, which our regulars may appeal to the multiple-time African Player Of The Year.
City fans, should Toure remain at Manchester? Let us know your views in the comments below!
