Jamie Jackson from The Observer suggests that Real Madrid are planning to move for Manchester City star Sergio Aguero.
The news comes after the Argentine striker was outlined as the La Liga club’s main January target.
Madrid, of course, broke all existing records when they signed Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur in a world record £86.5 million deal but they now want to break the bank again to secure a world class striker with the City ace fitting the bill.
Aguero was on the score sheet for the Citizens as they defeated previously unbeaten Everton 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium yesterday and he has made a solid start under new manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Madrid are also interested in former Atletico Madrid forward Radamel Falcao, who signed for Monaco in May, but could be forced to move again due to tax issues with the Principality club. However the 25-year-old City striker remains their first choice as Carlo Ancelotti looks for back up for current forward Karim Benzema and youngster Alvaro Morata.
While the Bernabeu club may confirm their interest in him during January with an offer over £38 million expected, Aguero has admitted that he is loving life at the Etihad Stadium.
He said: “I’m very happy at City, very happy since the day I came,” he said. “I knew that the project was good and in my head there is nothing else but Manchester City, so how long I’m going to be at City is just never a question.
“I’m happy here, my family’s here when they come to England, all I can do is give everything I have for the club and concentrate on achieving for the club.”
