Manchester City star wants Etihad exit after only one season

FW - Alvaro NegredoManchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking rather alarmed at the latest claim coming from the Daily Mail.

The publication seem to think that Citizens forward Alvaro Negredo is pushing for a return to Spain.

As one of our punters notes, the ex-Sevilla forward has been homesick of late and would ideally like to go back to La Liga with last season’s victors Atletico Madrid.

Los Colchoneros are keen on bringing the player to the Vicente Calderon as a replacement for Diego Costa who just joined Chelsea.

Costa has left a huge hole in Diego Simeone’s side and the fact that the club have also allowed David Villa to leave has not helped ease Atleti fans’ worries and concerns ahead of next season.

Signing Negredo may do so however, with the forward comfortable in the Spanish top flight and of course someone who is a proven goal scorer at the very top level of football.

Manchester City are keen to keep hold of Negredo but are aware that they have three other top forwards and according to our punters, keeping an unhappy player at the club may be more trouble than it is worth.

City fans. Would you try and keep Negredo or is it best to let a want away player leave instead of disrupting the squad harmony? Let us know your thoughts below.
